This book presents conceptual, theoretical, and empirical approaches to social policy analysis comparing China and Nordic countries in their treatment of the elderly. It is relevant to professionals focusing on Chinese and comparative social policy, health psychologists, and : Springer International Publishing. We invite papers from different disciplines, such as economics, history, social sciences and political science. Papers could approach the themes of the panel with country case studies, comparative analyses of Nordic pension schemes/reforms/outcomes or involve broader comparisons including also other countries outside the Nordic hemisphere. Despite evidence for an increasing importance of cognitively demanding tasks in the workplace, little is known about the life cycle performance in such tasks, particularly over the long run. We estimate the life cycle patterns of cognitive performance over the past y using a methodology that is based on the comparison of individual move-by-move performance of professional chess .
